Thank you for your interest in our Pilot club. Please do take a couple of minutes to read through this brief introduction to the Club and establish for yourself whether or not membership of our club will be of interest and benefit to you.
The Club
Philosphy and Aims
The aim of the Club is to bring together Pilots and Aviators from all Genres
of flight in a Club environment. Unlike a fixed base operation (FBO) the Club
is geared around a next-generation principle, whereby the club environment
is facilitated on the World Wide Web (WWW). By using functionality and features
which have been carefully chosen the Club provides its members with a virtualised
club experience designed to encourage learning, sharing of experiences, new
friendships and much more.
Who may
join the Club?
Membership of the club is open to any aviator in any genre of flight, at any
qualification or experience level. If you are actively considering aviation
as a career or pastime and are close to commiting yourself to training then
the club will work for you. If you are post training and qualification then
the club will be for you. If you merely have a passing interest in aviation
and don't expect to take part in the club as a fully engaged member then the
club is not for you.
How much
does it cost to join?
The good news is the Club is free of charge; at least financially! The price
you pay for membership is you must make a commitment to engage in the Club's
activities, use its features and reap the significant rewards of membership.
These rewards include lots of new friends, extending the envelope of flight
opportunities, learn new techniques, increase your awareness of other forms
of flight and more! The club is financed privately, and is not associated
with any organisation, manufacturer, airline or vendor. The Club is privately
owned.
How is
the club run?
The Club is supervised by4 board members who give up their personal and professional
time to guide the club experience for the members;
What should I
expect from the Club?
The club offers you a wide range of features and technology to help create
the live feel of a Club in an online context. This includes the basic ingredients
enabling you to document and share your experiences from Forums through to
Photograph Galleries. The Club also provides "real time" experiences
in the form of its own dedicated Voice Server that allows you to engage with
other Pilots in real time simply using your internet connection and a PC armed
with a microphone and soundcard! The club holds regular training and information
events, which allow you to sit back and listen to or even participate in formalised
sessions, perhaps listening to a pilot discussing his aviation career and
experiences through to training runs or familiarisation exercises in Radio
Telephony and much much more. Most of all, through the Club, you will be introduced
to and engage in discussions in real time and offline with Pilots, just like
you, who share a passion for aviation in all of its forms from all corners
of the Globe. To
